Series Kalila wa Dimna
The paintings are a contemporary approach to the ancient fable collection Kalila wa Dimna. They are based on prints of several 18th century folios from Syria, Egypt and India. Rebecca Raue’s acryl and mixed media interventions, the brush strokes and the handwriting enter into a dialogue with the book pages.
